zorras

Zorras is a bilingual multimedia performance collective co-founded in 2007 by Y Josephine and Scottish writer/artist San Alland. Zorras quickly became known for their uniquely queer mixture of bilingual storytelling, (sound) poetry, percussion, singing, guitars, megaphones and projected images. Rooted in experimentation and collaboration, Zorras explores themes of migration, racialization, gender, disability, class and belonging. From 2008 to 2012, Zorras performed widely in Scotland, England and “Canada”, making additional appearances in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Berlin and Amsterdam. They produced a CD (We Apologise For Any Inconvenience, 2009), and EP (Doctor Says, 2012), as well as several zines and short films.
